Sea Change - February 2002, Edinburgh, Scotland.
A metre square cage filled with concrete kettles sat in the sea for two months.
Installed on Joppa Rocks outside Edinburgh, on the sea bed at the low water mark, Sea Change emerged each low tide only to disappear again as the tide rose. Battered by the waves over a period of two months the concrete kettles changed, weathered and became green and barnacled.
Its an interesting dynamic when you put the paraphernalia of our urban lifestyle up against nature - The question is, who or what wins?
